Hi everyone!

We hope you are enjoying your summer! We know that as the school year sneaks up on us, there are lots of questions that start to come up. Hopefully this post can answer some of your questions while teachers are away for the summer.

  • Who is my case manager? Case managers are assigned during teacher work week. Your case manager will reach out directly to introduce themself before the first week of school.

  • What is my schedule? ILC schedules are hand built by ILC teachers during the August teacher work week. You may receive an automatic schedule from Powerschool, or even a printed version at check in. Please disregard any schedule you may receive until your case manager sends you a schedule. We do our best to get these out as soon as possible.

  • What time is my bus coming? If your student receives special transportation and you have not heard from them about your route or pickup/drop off time by August, please give them a call 720-554-4664.

  • How do I apply for free/reduced lunch? Please make sure you have a new application filled out for this year. The application can be found here: https://www.cherrycreekschools.org/Page/4041. Remember, in high school this program may assist families with class fees and discounted activity tickets.

  • What do I do on freshman phase-in day? If you are not a freshman, stay home. If you are a freshman, we will meet you on the North side (no flagpole, lots of windows) of the building near the handicap parking spots. This is where the special transportation buses drop off. We will help you find the ILC and get everyone matched up with their groups before heading to orientation. It is a good idea to PACK YOUR LUNCH on the first phase-in day, as it is the first day for everyone in the cafeteria and the lines can take extra time.

  • What school supplies do I need? You will get class-specific school supply lists during your first week of classes. If you would like to get the basics for your first few days, the following list is a good start:

○ Pencils

○ 1 pack of binder dividers

○ Two 1-inch 3-ring binders (please do not label these with names yet)

○ 2 - composition notebooks

○ Clorox wipes

○ 2 Boxes of tissues

○ 1 pack of 3x5 note cards

○ Headphones (for use with computers in class/off periods)

○ Pencil Case

○ Erasers

○ Markers

○Crayons

○Colored pencils

○ Scissors

○ Calculator

○ Ruler

○ Folders designated to each class

○ Emergency change of clothes/extra P.E. clothes to keep in locker

○ Deodorant

○ Lanyard for ID (ID must be carried at all times)

○ Computer protective sleeve - Students will carry their own devices from class to class. We highly recommend a protective sleeve or carrying case to keep these devices safe during transport.

  • Do I need to buy a GHS planner? No. The ILC has ordered modified daily planners for all students for the 22-23 school year. They will be handed out during classes. If you would like the GHS planner or another format, you are welcome to purchase your own. A daily planner is REQUIRED for each student.

We are looking forward to a great year and can't wait to get started!
