The sport of cheerleading is easily adapted to varying skill levels, includes both male and female athletes, and is centered on raising school spirit. The Grandview Cheer program is excited to extend their program to students with special needs at Grandview. Athletes with special needs will be paired with a varsity cheerleader and will practice with their Unified sports partner and the entire varsity team in preparation for upcoming games and events. Grandview cheer coaches and ILC staff, in addition to parent volunteers, will attend practices, games and events. The Grandview cheerleaders, coaches and staff believe passionately in the power of this program. We look forward to another rewarding and successful year for everyone involved!

Important Dates to Remember: Home Games

• Game Schedule: Sept 9, Oct 14, Oct 21, Oct 28

• We will cheer at Home games only (Legacy Stadium)... you must arrive by 6:30pm

• Centennial League Performance - Nov 1

School Year Practice Schedule (beginning in August)

• You must have completed the GHS athletic form and physical before you can practice

• Cheer practice is held on Wednesdays, 3:30-4:15pm at GHS (practices may be added as needed

• The Unified team cheers for the first quarter of varsity football games (September-November)

• Attendance may be required at additional events such as exhibition performances, pep assemblies, parades, etc.

• Athletes need to be in attendance of practices and scheduled events. If there is a circumstance that does not allow an athlete to attend a scheduled event, parents need to inform Ms. Linda within a timely manner so that we as a program can make arrangements

PLEASE NOTE

• You must register on the Grandview Website/Athletics before you can practice or cheer.

• You must have a current physical on file with the athletic department.

• You must sign YES to all photo waivers in PowerSchool. We cannot be responsible for people posting pictures on social media.

• The Unified sports program provides a game t-shirt.

• Parents must stay at the game for support. Parents should bring any medication needed by your students to games. We do not have access to medications for games.
